We are pleased to present the Epos-France database, which includes more than 16,000 high-quality seismic records from seismological stations in mainland France. They correspond to earthquakes with local magnitude between 2 and 5.6 that occurred between 1996 and the end of 2021.

This work is an update and improvement of the ground motion database provided by Traversa et al. (2020), which covered up to 2016.

In this version, the downloading of the seismological records is simplified by the use of the Stream2segment package (Zaccarelli et al. 2019). A semi-automatic peaking of P- and S-waves is used to perform an initial sorting in order to reduce the number of records to be manually checked and peaked. Finally, recordings are processed and their quality is evaluated according to the sanity check protocol implemented by Traversa et al. (2020). The main characteristics of the records that pass the quality check are presented.

We look forward to your feedbacks and insight from this dataset!
