SIGMA at a glance
SIGMA stands for SeismIc hazard & Ground Motion Assesment.
The consortium is gathering industrial partners whiching to coordinate Research and Developpement projects on this subject.
Objectives are to improve data and methods necessary to refine seismic hazard assesment for such industrial sites.

SIGMA at a glance
SIGMA programs are Research and Developpement projects about seismic hazard and ground motion.
Their objective is to improve data and develop methods necessary to best estimate SHA by producing Hazard levels more adapted to the site.

from sigma to sigma3

Initiate an international collaboration framework to produce stable and robust seismic hazard estimates. Gathered scientific partners from renowned institutions and industrial stakeholders to develop a research program on the reduction of epistemic uncertainties to improve the confidence in hazard assessments

Built upon SIGMA by developing databases, methods, and models tailored for site-specific hazard assessments, particularly in low-seismicity areas, and to enhance short- and mid-term seismic hazard evaluations

Go beyond the progress made in SIGMA and SIGMA2 by further reducing epistemic uncertainties, improve seismic hazard model realism, and enhance the international consensus on safety demonstration practices, while addressing emerging industrial challenges
